5PM ON SUNDAYS
Every Sunday at 5pm we meet. We have food and drinks together before sharing an informal liturgy, including Scripture reading, silence, art and/or music, Lectio Divina (Sacred Reading), eucharist, and a homily centered on life-practices.
SILENT PRAYER & MEDITATION: 7AM on Wednesdays
We know we’re not the only ones who feel drawn to Jesus, but not religion; community, but not confinement. Jesus’ message is profoundly relevant to our chaotic lives today. A Modern Monastery exists to resource and encourage followers with practices and community for a Contemplative Christian Spiritual journey. If it can’t be lived, we probably won’t waste our time talking about it. We aim to engage and participate with Christ, in all, and through all.

WHAT IS A MODERN MONASTERY
Our goal is simply to create space for ourselves to be present to God, one another, and ourselves in practical and encouraging ways. Where most of culture complicates our identities and outlook, we believe Jesus directs us to simplify our lives to this truth: Christ is all, and is in all. There is no exclusion or absence.
A Modern Monastery practices this with an emphasis on silent prayer, meditation, spiritual direction, sacred reading, Agape Feasts, eucharist, the prayer of examine, the stations of the cross, and regular gatherings.
We welcome all who feel drawn toward the silence, lifestyle, and expression of the Contemplative Christian Spiritual journey and don’t exclude anyone according to their identity (sexuality, gender, race, etc) in the journey.
